Oasis is a rock band that has been on the scene for since 1991. They have gone through many changes through those years, and have had many member changes as well. The current members are Noel Gallagher, (lead vocals and tambourine), Liam Gallagher (guitar, vocals, bass and keyboards), Andy Bell, (keyboards and bass guitar), Colin "Gem" Archer, (guitar, bass, keyboards and harmonica), Andy Bell, (bass guitar and keyboard) and Chris Sharrock (drums and percussion). The most recognizable member by far is Noel Gallagher who is the leader of the group.

Noel was born on May 29, 1967 in Manchester England. He is currently forty-one years old. He had a hard childhood because he was born to an alcoholic father who often beat him. It was during a period of probation that he taught himself how to play the guitar at the age of thirteen. He worked in construction for a while and then joined a band in Manchester called Inspiral carpets. He was a roadie for them in 1988. He joined his brother's band called "The Rain" in 1991. In 1994 the group Oasis put out their debut album called "Definitely Maybe", and it was all uphill from there. The group took off and developed their own following.

Noel's brother Liam Gallagher was born on September 21, 1972 and had as one of the founding members of Oasis has had the pleasure to see the band go from nothing to everything. Noel and Liam have had many differences during the band's progression, and one of the main reasons was that Liam used recreational drugs more than his brother would like. He was also on to go to a lot of parties and get into a lot of trouble. Noel actually abandoned the group many times due to his brother’s activities, but he always managed to return. Andy Bell received his name to fame by joining Oasis. He was born in Cardiff Wales on August 11, 1970. He has been nicknamed "Wing Commander Bell" because he didn’t fit into the beginnings of the group in the stereotypical northern way.

Oasis songs have been written mainly by Liam and Noel Gallagher, who are also the only founding members that are also still a part of the group at present. This group has had worldwide record sales of over fifty million, eight singles that have went to number one in England, have fifteen NME awards, and nine Q Awards. They have also collected four awards from MTV Europe and five Brit Awards.
