I was there – I live just 15 miles from Slane Castle – it remains the BEST U2 concert ive ever been to & ive been to every tour since ZooTV – this was special – I still get tears in my eyes & the chills down my spine when I see this & for the briefest of moments – i am there again:) Nothing beats the home crowd in Ireland for a U2 gig – unreal! cant wait to see them at Croke Park – bring it on!

A real tribute to his Father’s contribution to getting all 4 of them where they are now. Without the money for the record deal I seriously doubt they would of made it this far. Bob Hewson RIP
Man! Bono hits a note at the beginning that he NEVER hits!! Pure Brillance! Bono said, “My old man’s opera permeated the house.” That was intro would make Pavarotti proud. I love how Edge’s guitar intro sounds like church bells ringing! I’ve always associated this song with Heaven. When my Dad died in ‘89, I wanted to play this at his funeral. It rocked too much for church, so I dedicated MLK to him. Everyone cryed. I CAN’T WAIT for U2 in Dallas Tx at the BILLION DOLLAR stadium! “Jerry World”
Bono yells out Shalom twice, after his intro. It’s of course a Hebrew word meaning Peace & welfare. It also means hello & goodbye. It also refers to the well-being or safety of an individual. He was saying “Hello & Goodbye” to his Dad at the sametime and wishing Peace. Perfect words for a perfect moment! I wish I could make out what he says after that. Anybody know? When he makes a heart over his chest, and sings “Love, love,love”, w/ that Irish SMILE, YOU know he is feeling the love and relief!
